Discover practical and in-the-moment ways we can use ourselves to engage with and expand self-efficacy for teens. We will explore themes discovered during Pierce County human-centered research that explored “how might we connect youth to learning?” We will practice specific cues that help teens engage within their environment, envision and focus on solutions, and gain strength from our support. The best part is that it’s all possible without ever telling them what to do!
Participants will:
- Discover human-centered themes found to connect youth to learning
- Understand the difference between being a mentor, a coach, and a therapist
- Learn to use open-ended questions to elevate teen voices in your program
- Use solutions-focus tools to support teens in setting and achieving goals
